Face Blur

Blur or pixelate faces and any sensitive regions in a photo before you share it. Use the rectangle tool to cover a whole area or the brush to paint over details freehand. Everything runs in your browser — your photo is never uploaded anywhere.

How It Works

Your photo is drawn onto an HTML <canvas> and kept entirely inside your browser. A separate, invisible mask tracks the areas you mark with the rectangle or brush tools. When the image is rendered, a fully blurred (or pixelated) copy of the photo is composited on top, but only where the mask is painted, so the rest of the image stays perfectly sharp.

The Rectangle tool is ideal for covering a whole face or a document; the Brush lets you follow irregular shapes. Choose Blur for a soft, natural redaction or Pixelate for a hard mosaic, and use the Strength slider to control how heavy the effect is. The optional Auto-detect faces button uses your browser's built-in face detector (where available) to place rectangles for you automatically.

Because there are no server calls, nothing ever leaves your device. The process is private, instant and works offline. When you are happy, click Download PNG to save a redacted copy at the image's original resolution.
